Amy Beth Cupp Dragoo: Color Palettes Inspired by New England Seasons

No matter the season, I am consistently finding interior design color palette inspiration from the nature outside our windows.

Mother nature can teach us a lot about balance, texture, repetition, shape and pattern.

I am so mesmerized by nature’s inspiration. After being away from it for so many years, I live for the weekends we spend in the hills of Litchfield County.

With each season, a new color palette emerges, and I find myself smitten with a new favorite. Which one is yours?

All of these images are moments throughout the seasons that I have witnessed in our backyard. The fabrics are all available at one of my favorite lifestyle boutiques: High Falls Mercantile in High Falls, New York.

I love the red/grey palette. The rest are nice too but that one is my fave. Beautiful photos and fabrics. Great job Amy!

Lovely post, Amy, and interesting idea. It reminds me a little of a post Sally Wilson did here last year, drawing room palettes from bird plumage: http://blog.nehomemag.com/2011/03/sally-wilson-live-a-colorful-life/

A great way to appreciate our winter season by observing bright colors pop out against the snow cover. Wonderful images.

The time in nature has a color
Through these floral and linear patterns, it is clear in this post, with a unique aesthetic sensibility, the art of interpreting and transfer it to our everyday habitat.
    Fantastic presentation Amy!

My favorite is the second one with the mushroom and bright green grass. Beautiful! Nature is definitely our most invaluable color teacher.
